Introducing Nelly and Misty

Probably, after having Nelly and Misty, for three years, should include a picture and story about them. They are a team of 10 year old Mares. We picked up a team of Haflingers and a wagon to give rides here on special occasions and during our Fall Family Fun. Haflingers are the same color as Belgums, but only smaller. Team was picked up from south of Brooten. Shiloh Wagon Works from Henning made the wagon for us.

Pumpkins Planted

After doing the Kid’s Day for the Glenwood Chamber yesterday, doing pony rides and petting zoo. Came home and planted 5 acres of pumpkins. Pumpkins are a major attraction for our Fall Season. Planted many different varieties, especially large ones. Our Fall Season will begin September 21, 2019. Families really enjoy going out and picking there own pumpkin.

Spring Work

As everybody knows, really tough spring to get projects done. After the cold and rainy weekend, got a lot of gourds and flowers planted around the yard today. Still plenty to do, but anyway a good start. Fun job to get all the different gourds planted. In case anybody would like some of the birdhouse gourds, can get them for just $5.00 each.

Spring 2019

Once again Spring brings a bounty of new animals. We have new lambs, the goats have had their kids, the mini-donkey had her baby and we have bunnies. Flowers are getting planted around the yard, Shortly the pumpkins will be getting planted. All is well at Erickson’s Petting Zoo.
