Experience Memories

     What we want families who come to our petting zoo to leave with is: Experience & Memories! The experience to be on a real farm. Experience to see many different farm animals and birds in their natural setting. During the Fall Season can see how all the pumpkins, squash and gourds actually grow. Get the experience of searching for the just right pumpkin from our pick your own pumpkin patch. All of these different experiences lead to memories. We call it- "Making Memories" at Erickson's Petting Zoo.

So much better than picking on off a shelf or out of a big box in a store. Thanks for all the nice compliments on the size of our pumpkins. Open every weekend until Halloween to get your pumpkins, squash , gourds, straw bales and corn shocks for decorating.

What a beautiful weekend coming on up to go visit a real pick your own pumpkin patch. We have several different pumpkin patches to explore to find your perfect pumpkin. Have many different decorated areas in the farm yard for photo taking opportunities. 

We Are Open

Our Fall Family Fun Weekends have begun! Even with all the different activities going on all around the area, had a very nice turnout for our first day. Open tomorrow, Sunday, noon-5pm. Was a beautiful day for families to feed the animals, search for the perfect pumpkin, explore and play in all the different playgrounds. Have a lot of young animals that were born late summer. Our newest addition is Momma Pig and her babies just born on September 17th!

Making Our Animals More Accessible

Another project we are just about done with is a viewing fence around our outside animal pens. Now our visitors will be able to circle around behind the barn. You will be closer to the animals and the goat tower without actually being in the animal pens.

Ready for Visitors

Pictured is our School Trip Pumpkin Patch. These pumpkins run pretty close to the same size and are great for when school kids come on out for their field trip. Each student gets to pick their own free pumpkin from this patch. Besides all the animals and birds to look at in the big red barn, we have plenty of playgrounds for the kids to enjoy. In the middle of the picture is our hay bale maze for the fall season.

School trips can be booked for during the day. We also, can book group outings (4-H, Scouts and church groups) for the evening hours. If you would like, can also have a bon fire here.

New Season, New Blog

Welcome to Erickson’s Petting Zoo, and welcome to our new website and blog! 

As indicated on our home page, we shift to fall hours on September 20.   We always enjoy the fall, and it is a great time of year for families, youth groups, and school field trips to visit the farm.  Due to the unusual weather this summer, the Corn Maze will be open at no additional charge.  We’ll have an abundance of pumpkins to pick from in the Pumpkin Patch.   If you are interested in scheduling a visit for your group, please call us soon as the calendar is filling up. 

The website is new this summer, built by Steve and Jackie Henning (Advance Marketing Services).  In addition to the desktop site, there’s also a mobile-optimized site that you can access from your smart phone.  Be sure and register from your phone, so you can receive news updates and special deals from time to time.   And if you haven’t already, please like us on Facebook!
